Alta Est- The Tall ones
God is dead and we have killed him.
Photographs in black and white aim to focus on the modern structures that populate our Maltese landscapes. Cranes, factory related buildings, oil rigs, chimneys, vats and silos. They appear to stand out among a blank sky. They stick out like a middle finger. The foundation of the project was based around the question: what is a particular feature that defines Malta.
It is a rather pessimistic perspective but it is also a real one. To chose to focus on the negative elements of a society rather than appreciating what is good about it is a choice. However if the majority of your environment is a negative one is it still a any less of a choice?
